Ocean, You’re Fascinating

Young and old are excited, inspired, energized, and overall fascinated by the mysterious and gorgeous world of the sea. The photos display only a glimpse of its beauty on camera.

When Brooks and I visited California with a few friends for a short and spontaneous trip, our priority was of course the ocean. As soon as we arrived near the shore we knew we needed to seize the moment and be on the beach ASAP!

After spending a sufficient amount of time in the sun, we decided to spend the limited time we had left at the nearest aquarium. Again, we needed to feed our appetite for the sea. While at the aquarium we joined many others in true fascination of the ocean. I saw young and old visitors going from glass window to glass window in awe and wonder. Children reaching out (touching the glass) to pet sharks. Petite elderly women glazing in quiet wonder at tiny colorful creatures inches away. And me, striving to capture this beauty in a photo.

Aquariums, photography, exploration, and discovery have allowed us (humans) to peer into this word under the sea and better understand what it holds. However, there is so much more the ocean holds that will keep us wondering and fascinated. How beautiful to have a charm on this Earth that both humbles us and inspires us. How great a God there is that created this beauty for us to relish in and bring glory to Him.

In the hustle and bustle, and cramming in activities that comes with a short vacation, the best part is the gratitude flourished at the end of the day.

Ocean, from laying on your beaches, to surfing your waves, to snorkeling along your surface, we are truly grateful for you, and the God that you sing praises too with every wave.

You, ocean, are fascinating.

The photos in this post were taken by yours truly, with the help of my patient husband and his fancy camera.

  1. Have you ever thought about creating an e-book or guest authoring on other websites?
